This show will be the first ever art exhibit showcasing the work of the New Jewish Culture Fellows, and I’m so thrilled to have my work included!! It’s no exaggeration to say that NJCF has dramatically changed my work and life for the better.

The Box
Coming Very Soon! The Box is a 2-person exhibition with works by me and the brilliant Anne Mourier, a feminist, visual conversation about our faiths of origin. Many thanks to Aaron Rosen and the Luce Center for the Arts and Religion.
Creating this show with Anne, an artist and human I hugely admire, has been a joy.
Anatevka Premiere at the 2023 New York Jewish Film Festival!!
What a night!! This last Wednesday my newest short film, Anatevka, had its US premiere at Lincoln Center, and I am still totally blissed out. The film showed on a night of short films by female directors.
My young cast got to see their phenomenal performances on that iconic big screen, and the audience really connected with the film. As filmmakers, we can’t really know how our projects will land with folks outside our loved ones until they show publicly. Hearing the laughter as my film played in that big room was a really special, gratifying experience.
More exciting Anatevka news coming soon!! Stay tuned.
My incredible young movie stars posing at the festival.
Hadar Ahuvia, my fabulous star and collaborator, on the big screen.
No one does dapper like my husband.
The Q & A on stage after the screenings. Such an honor to chat with these remarkable filmmakers!
I’m on Fake the Nation with legendary drag queen and trans activist Eureka O’Hara!!
Dreamy does not begin to describe how I feel about appearing as a guest this week on the Fake the Nation podcast with Negin Farsad. We were joined by drag legend EUREKA O’HARA!!!
Eureka O’Hara, people. The queen you know and love from Rupaul’s Drag Race, from All Stars, and from We’re Here on HBO!!!
Getting to chat about current events with these two legendary ladies was such a blast!!
Best Short Film at TOFFF!
Thank you Toronto!! Beyond excited for Anatevka to win best short at this year’s festival.

A Fabulous Exhibition Opening in Vienna
I’m just back from Vienna, where I attended the opening for “100 Misunderstandings About And Among Jews,” at the Jewish Museum of the City of Vienna. My video piece, Dangerous Opinions, is on view, and challenges the misunderstanding that we cannot publicly criticize Israel.
I love this show!! It’s thoughtful, smart, includes an incredible selection of works, and fearlessly engages with some of the most fraught issues in contemporary Jewish life. Having my work included really is a thrill.
From top to bottom:
Me and Caitlin Gura, one of the exhibition’s wonderful curators.
With dreamboat/dream date/dream husband/velvet assassin, Aamir Wyne.
Visitors watching my piece.
Anatevka
Big News! Anatevka, the short dark comedy I wrote and directed, is now finished!!
I am so, so excited about this project, and can’t wait for it to be in the world. Even from just the poster above, you can see what a truly fabulous job the kids starring in this film did. I’m blown away.
Some big announcements and much more info coming soon, but for now I just want to thank every human (there were so many!!) who helped bring this project to life. I’m so lucky.

If you find yourself in Vienna between late November and June, I hope you’ll check out “100 Misunderstandings About and Among Jews,” a group exhibition that includes my work! I feel extremely lucky to be included in this show, especially because this theme could not be more timely.
This is my first time ever exhibiting work in a European museum!! I can’t wait.
If you will be in Vienna on Nov 29th, and would like to attend the opening, please let me know, so I can put your name on the list. I’ll be there!!
The Standard Issue Podcast
Getting to chat with the brilliant Mickey Noonan on The Standard Issue podcast about my work in general and CHOSEN, my solo show in London opening today (!) was an utter joy. It’s a rare and special thing to get to discuss my work with such a thorough, curious, and fun journalist. I hope you’ll listen!

CHOSEN opens next week!
I can’t believe it, but my first ever solo show outside the US, CHOSEN, opens at Four Corners Gallery, in London, in a few days!! Amazing. The exhibition will be up between Oct 11th and 15th, as part of Frieze Week, and I’m beyond honored to participate.
Below is a sneak peek of the very large print we’ll be installing in the gallery’s front window:

Bring on the challenging discourse! I hope to see you there.
Solo Show in London During Frieze Week!
CHOSEN, my first solo exhibition outside the US, will be up in London next month, during Frieze week!! To have this happen in a city I love so much, at the same time as one of the most important art fairs out there, feels especially exciting. My work will be on view at Four Corners Gallery, a lovely space on the east side of the city.
CHOSEN marks another milestone for me - this is the first time I will get to show my short film, Eleanor of Illinois, on a loop, in a fine art space, the context I always wanted for this piece. I can't wait.
If you will be in London the evening of Oct 13th, and would like to attend the private viewing, please let me know. I will make sure your name is on the list.
All the thanks to Four Corners Gallery, and the wonderful Diana Ewer, who represents my work in the UK, for making this happen.
Hope to see you there!

Not All Kathy’s
What a joy to be on this week’s Fake The Nation with the incomparable Negin Farsad and Shalewa Sharpe! We got into it about California crime politics, the Depp/Heard trial, and powerful women named Kathy.
Available wherever you get your podcasts! I really hope you’ll listen - I had such a ball gabbing with these two.
